Coastal Shores

September 26, 2011

Just sharing a few pictures from a recent trip to the coast. While it was about 95 degrees in the Willamette Valley on this day, it never got above 63 on the coast. As you can see, it was also fairly foggy most of the day.

The subject matter is far easier to see if you click on the photos to enlarge them.

Yaquina Bay Bridge -- It's beautiful when you can really see it.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse -- this is on BLM land and you have to pay $7.00 to visit. It is not worth the cost if it's foggy because half the draw is the view of the ocean from the five major trails through the surrounding hills.

View of the lighthouse from the visitor center. You can just barely see it in the fog.

As I hit Lincoln City on the way back to the Willamette Valley, the clouds parted and the sun came out. Too bad it wasn't this beautiful the rest of the day.

And for my friends on the East Coast: Yes, Oregon DOES have a coastline and IS on the Pacific Ocean. 🙂
