Random Thought, Observation and Occurrence

December 18, 2011

A bit o’ things that happened today:

As I drove through my neighborhood this December evening, noting house after house with Christmas lights decorating eaves and windows and lawns, I realized that others have far more time on their hands than I ever will.

Personally, I’m very thankful for that.

Somehow, I don’t think I was meant to spy the employee lighting up her cigarette in front of the Cub Scout tree lot.

First, it’s a bad example for the little Cub Scouts.

Second, lighting up in front of dead trees (’cause let’s face it, the moment you cut down a tree, it is dying) that are already drying out is not the smartest move I’ve ever seen.

My dog got peed on at the dog park.

I never thought I’d say that.

A 7-month-old St. Bernard trotted into the dog park and made a beeline for Cooper. He stood with his head held high, practically posing for the pup as the St. Bernard inspected every bit of his body with his nose. Then, suddenly, the pup lifted his leg and started peeing.

I’m not sure if I was more disturbed by the fact that a dog peed on my dog or the fact that it took Cooper several, extended seconds to realize he was being peed on and run away.

Of course, I maybe I should just be freaked out by the fact that he’s wanted to cuddle with me ever since it happened.

OK, I promise these weren’t taken after Cooper was peed on. They were actually taken a few months ago, after Cooper played in the dog park following a particularly rainy day.
