Signs of Spring

March 4, 2012

Every once in a great while, Oregon teases us with a taste of the spring yet to come. Today was one of those days. While it started out foggy, the gray wisps eventually burned off and the sun showed its full 60-degree glory. It was a wonderful surprise since we have more than 15 days of winter left.

I decided to take 30 minutes to plant some pansies in my side garden. Given that we are set to get another cold front moving through tomorrow with the possibility of more snow, I felt fortunate to be able to enjoy the weather respite.

The neighbor’s cat, who prefers to hang out on my porch when she’s outside, even decided to enjoy the sun. She settled in the flowerbed near where I was working and supervised.
