Swaddled Dog

March 30, 2012

Cooper is having stomach issues.

Likely, it’s because he’s eaten a cat toy.

How do I know? Well, he’s done it before. And the results have generally been the same: intermittent owie tummy until the foreign body literally passes. Usually, he spends part of the time complaining and part of the time laying in my lap, wanting his belly rubbed.

Tonight, he did something a little different. He wrapped himself in the blanket on couch. These pictures (unfortunately taken with my iPhone) were not staged. Cooper did this all by himself.

And before anyone thinks I’m neglecting him, I would take him to the vet, but the treatment involves lots of fluids and a couple of enemas until he passes the toy. Despite the extra care, I’ve found it generally takes just as long to wait it out at home.

Poor baby! I hope it “passes” soon.

    • Thanks! The real question at the moment is whether either of us will get any sleep tonight. Given how owie he is, I have a feeling it’s going to be a long night.
