Hawaiian Adventures — Rainbows
Living in the Pacific Northwest, I often see rainbows. The rainbows I’ve seen are nothing compared to what I saw on Oahu, though. Two days in a row, rainbows covered Waikiki. Of course, the fact that I was seeing the rainbows meant that I had rain at my back (and sometimes right in front of me).

Rainbow over Waikiki as seen from the fire control station at the top of Diamond Head. The fire control station, by the way, had nothing to do with fires (like they would be in the Northwest). Rather, it was a watch center carved into the mountain from which military men could spy incoming attacks. They would then direct gun batteries on the coast where to aim the weapons.
