Sedona Beauty II

September 25, 2012

Figured it was about time to share more of my Sedona photos … you didn’t think I’d share photos of Sedona without offering a few of the red rock monuments in the region, did you?

Cathedral Rock — I tried to take a better photo of the formation with the nearby stream in the foreground, but I lost most of the detail of the center columns as the sun set. Also, I was racing against the closing of the park. I think I would have gotten better photos in the fall.

In Crescent Moon Park, one of two main places to view Cathedral Rock, there are two buildings — one pictured in the first photo and the watermill. Both date back to the late 1800s.

I stayed at a hotel that was located on a hill overlooking the city (it was on the road to the airport). The views were amazing and we experienced intense sunsets and sunrises every day. The skies were so colorful that it was almost impossible to take in.

I’m not entirely sure, but I think this is an odd view of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. If someone can correct me, please let me know.

So, there is a little trail you are supposed to take to get a great view of Snoopy Rock. It leads under a bridge. Clearly, I found the view of the bridge to be more interesting.

Not the best picture, but this was taken from the top of one of the vortexes in town. It was a breath-taking view.

View from the other side of the vortex. Beautiful, right?
