Cooper and the Pathetic Snow

December 31, 2012

When I climbed into bed last night, the forecast on my not-so-smart phone indicated that we were going to hit a high of about 42 degrees with rain showers.

Apparently, no one bothered to tell the weather people that 42 was going to be a stretch.

Instead of rain, we got snow. A full day of snow. Unfortunately, most of the day, it wasn’t really cold enough for the snow to stick to the ground. But, during one golden hour during the afternoon, the temperature dipped just enough for the flakes to start collecting on the ground. I decided to head outside with Cooper, who always loves to play in the snow.

Since there wasn’t enough of the white stuff for him to romp in, I played a little fetch with him. It’s the first time we’ve been able to play outside since early November.

He was in heaven.

Of course, I didn’t realize that Cooper would be so focused on trying to eat the snow that had accumulated on the ball as we were playing that he would forget what we were doing,

Oh well … guess he can’t always be the brightest pup …

In fact, he’s often not the brightest …

But I love him anyway.

Kind of because I have to, but still … I love him.

Snow 1

I only managed to get this picture by holding the ball over my head. He wouldn’t take his eyes off it.

Snow 2

That’s what I call a drive to fetch.

Snow 3

What a good, good dog … sometimes …

Snow 4

Determined to eat the snow off the ball before he relinquished it to me.
