Hiking 1

March 30, 2013

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. Life has changed dramatically on my little world. All for the better, but I am trying to find a way to rebalance my life. The short story is that my life has changed, so that I spend most of my day writing. When I finish work each day, I don’t often have the desire to write more. It’s a good problem to have, but it means that my blogging has suffered.

At the same time, I have tried to take more time to walk my dog and spend time with the animals. Since we have had such great and mild weather during the last few weeks of winter and into early spring (unlike my friends back East), Cooper and I have had a lt of time to explore. Well … around work, that is.

One of our first adventures was to Airport Park, a large tract of land right on the edge of McMinnville’s little park that is right beside the airport (so, it is aptly named).

How close is it to the airport? Close enough that the only thing between the far edge of the park and the runway is a sign that warns people to stay back or be charged with trespassing. The paved runway is just beyond the sign.

The wooded area excited Cooper and left him wanting nothing more than to charge down the trails and pretty much ignore every request I had for him to look at me while I took his picture.
