More Pansies and Violas and Columbine …

April 16, 2013

This past weekend, I decided to plant additional pansies and violas and columbine because my other perennials have loved the Oregon climate so much that they survived the winter and thrived well before spring had officially sprung. I will admit that deadheading these suckers is time consuming, but it is well worth the effort when you seen them bloom year after year.

Notice how well these little plants have cross-pollinated, bringing me new combinations of colors.

What’s not to love when you have your very own science experiment in your back yard?
