Freaking Out the Animals

January 1, 2014

My animals are apparently deeply, deeply entrenched in my usual routine.

Deeply entrenched.

Because of this, my decision to take a bath this afternoon threw them for a complete loop. And they clearly thought I was dying … or something.

Bath 1

Cooper: “Whatcha doin’? Why you in there?”

Bath 2

Cooper: “This isn’t normal. I’m supposed to be in there and you’re supposed to be out here. Is somethin’ wrong? Did I do somethin’ wrong?”

Bath 3

Colby: “Hi … what’s that? Is that water? I like water.”

Bath 5

Colby: “Can I play with the water? I like to play with water. It’s wet. Wet’s fun!”

Bath 6

Gus: “What’s going on? Why are you in here? Is this a new thing? I don’t think I like this thing.”

Bath 7

Gus: “Oh yeah … that’s bad … water’s bad. Water’s wet. Wet is bad …”

All of the animals eventually came in to visit, although only the three above looked over the edge and/or jumped up to walk along the ledge of the tub (I didn’t let that last long. I had visions of Gus falling in and immediately flying at me with lethal claws extended). I think this means that I need to close the door whenever I plan on going off my normal routine.

Too funny! It’s obvious you don’t do a soaking bath often… Do it more often and train them to bring the wine! 😉

    • LOL … I LOVE that idea, but they don’t have opposable thumbs. Might make it hard to for them to open the wine bottles. Maybe I could teach Cooper how to just bring me the bottle. 🙂
